The newest member of the Mid-American Conference got to perform one last time in front of professional scouts as an FCS program, with over a dozen prospects taking to the field on March 31st.

The program, held in tandem with fellow FCS program UC Davis and Hawai'i of the Mountain West on Sac State's campus, saw seven former Hornets go through Combine exercises and measurements. Scouts from all 32 NFL franchises and a handful of CFL scouts were confirmed to be in attendance by the State Hornet.

For our reports, we’ve pulled raw numbers from both Draft Scout and RAS.football to populate Relative Athletic Score cards. These cards are used with express written permission of RAS’ creator Kent Lee Platte.

OG Dean Abdullah

Elevator Pitch:

Dean Abdullah is an underrated interior offensive line prospect with versatility. After 22 games and 10 starts at guard at San Diego State, he made the switch to center at Sacramento State. Abdullah had a standout season at center, not allowing a sack and only surrendering a lone quarterback hit. His performance earned him second-team all-Big Sky honors. Despite being relatively undersized at 299 pounds, his technique could earn him a shot at the next level.

Adams seemed to benefit from Brennan Marion’s innovative “go-go” offense, averaging an efficient 5.3 yards per carry on 34 attempts– an improvement on his 2.6 YPC average at UW on 31 carries. Adams was also an explosive receiver out of the backfield, catching nine passes for 134 yards last year.

Hammond might be Sacramento State’s best pro prospect. Hammond was a proven commodity in a crowded backfield at Pitt, rushing for 1,546 yards and 14 touchdowns in four years. He was even the MVP of the 2022 Sun Bowl, rushing for 94 yards and two touchdowns against Pitt.

Hammond transferred out for a starting opportunity at Sac State and shined, running for 1,216 yards and 13 touchdowns on 188 carries, good for an average of 6.5 yards. He also averaged nearly 30 yards on 16 kick returns, returning one for a 99-yard touchdown.

Hammond Jr. has the build and elusiveness to fit the third-down back or return specialist mold, and will likely to be a coveted undrafted free agent commodity.

OT Jordan Herman

Elevator Pitch:

At six-foot-six, 339 pounds, Herman has the size to make an professional roster. Unfortunately, injuries derailed what promised to be a breakout season. After playing 13 games in four years at Florida and Charlotte, Herman became a starter in week two for Sacramento State. Three weeks later, a knee injury ended his year.

Draft Projections:

  • Lower-league tryout

OT Aidan Meek

Elevator Pitch:

Meek was a consistent presence on the Sacramento State offensive line throughout his career, starting 33 games. He showed versatility when needed, shifting to guard for one of his starts this last year. Meek is a strong pass protector, not allowing a sack in 11 of 12 games. Although lighter, his experience could warrant an opportunity at the next level.

  • Height: six-foot-five

LB Oscar Moore

Elevator Pitch:

Moore may be undersized, but he has great instinct and a nose for the football. After making 86 tackles in two years at UTEP– including 62 in 2024– Moore transferred to Sacramento State. In his lone year as a Hornet, Moore made 69 tackles and five stops behind the line of scrimmage. He also intercepted a pass and broke up three others. Moore is a reliable tackler who can shed blocks and deserves an opportunity at the next level on special teams.
