Miami was once again one of the top teams in the MAC in 2024, grinding out a 7-5 regular-season to qualify for the MAC Championship Game before eventually falling to Western Michigan in Detroit and finishing the campaign 7-7.

With much of 2024's MAC runners-up talent either transferring out or graduating, the RedHawks had a fairly small class of prospects for this year's NFL Draft cycle, with only four listed participants on March 3rd.

For our reports, we’ve pulled raw numbers from both Draft Scout and RAS.football to populate RAS score cards. These cards are used with express written permission of RAS’ creator Kent Lee Platte.

DB Eli Blakey

Elevator Pitch:

Hybrid safety who contributed either in rotation or as a starter in all eligible seasons over 34 games (31 starts.) Possesses good anticipation in the run game and closing ability on contested catches. Plays best closer to the line of scrimmage but can also be depended on in the slot in coverage. Finished career with 281 tackles, 6.5 tackles-for-loss, four interceptions and 21 pass breakups. 2025 was best campaign, with career-high 118 tackles, 4.5 TFLs and two picks. Improved significantly in 2024 after missing second half of 2023 with arm injury; earned all-MAC honors in 2024 (third-team) and 2025 (first-team).

HB Jordan Brunson

Elevator Pitch:

Originally transferred in from Virginia Tech after 2021 campaign. Primarly served as a change-of-pace power back in 2023 and 2024 after starting out as a reserve in 2022. Won the starting job in 2025, leading the team with 767 rushing yards on 164 carries, scoring four times. Over four-year career, finished with 236 carries for 1,218 yards and nine touchdowns as a RedHawk, averaging 5.2 yards per carry. Has decent initial quickness, but tops out quickly when running downhill.

LB Jackson Kuwatch

Elevator Pitch:

Former transfer from Ohio State who played three seasons in Miami. One-year starter with limited experience (did not play in 2021-22, played special teams in 2023-24) but showed monster production on field. Possess ideal linebacker frame (six-foot-four, 232 lbs.), excellent athletic grades and a hard-nosed tenacity that can't be taught, especially in the run game. A technician who specialized at getting into the offensive backfield as a blitzer. Finished lone season as starter as a first-team all-MAC backer, with 109 tackles, 10 TFLs and five sacks. Would have finished as top LB in 10-yard split and second-best in three-cone if invited to Combine. Was not depended upon in the passing game and would have to pick that up at the pro level to realize potential. Will need development time, but should immediately be a core special teamer at the professional level with upside as a base outside linebacker.

Draft Projections:

  • Late Day 3 pick; priority undrafted free agent/rookie mini-camp invite

Measurables (as of Pro Day)

  • Height: six-foot-four
  • Weight: 232 lbs.
  • Arms: 30 and one-half inches
  • Hands: nine and one-half inches

  • Broad jump: 10 feet
  • Bench: 15 reps at 225 lbs.

Relative Athletic Score: 8.86
