Western Michigan, Delaware agree to home-and-home football series
The mid-major darlings will meet for the first time in 2028, with a follow-up in 2030.
The Delaware Blue Hens, who started play in Conference USA in 2025, announced on Wednesday morning the finalization of several game agreements for their 2028 calendar.
Amongst the opponents? The Western Michigan Broncos, who confirmed the news in tandem with a return contest set for 2030.
The two teams, who have never met on the gridiron, will start the series in Newark when the Broncos visit the Blue Hens on Saturday, September 23rd, 2028.
The Blue Hens will then travel to Kalamazoo in 2030, taking on the Broncos on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Delaware will be WMU's Week 4 opponent as currently scheduled in 2028, with WMU set to visit a pair of Big Ten schools in Michigan State on Sept. 2nd and Iowa on Sept. 16th before then. Week 2 is still open for a potential opponent.
WMU still has two holes to fill for their 2030 schedule after adding a home game with Delaware, with a road game against FIU on Sept. 14 the only other confirmed game scheduled.
